Project Freecore is a project to release an album of hip-hop using Creative Commons licensed samples and beats.
Ideally I’m looking for music where the multitrack source is available, such as with Jonathan Coulton and Brad Sucks. But of course there is plenty of music out there with decent beats as they are.
I also plan to use some public domain poetry as lyrics, the obvious one being The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe which has an awesome meter.
